Sahakar Bharati conference in Pushkar; Awasthi to get Inamdar award

Sahakar Bharati is holding a two day 6th National Conference in Pushkar, Rajasthan which is to be inaugurated by Union Railways and Coal Minister Piyush Goyal. The conference will begin tomorrow that is from the 22nd December.

On this occasion, the Laxmanrao Inamdar Memorial Award will be bestowed on IFFCO Managing Director Dr U S Awasthi for his outstanding contributions towards the cooperative movement.

The award will be given away by Union Railways and Coal Minister Piyush Goyal. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Rajyavardhan Rathore and Union Minister of State Gajendra Singh Shekhawat will also grace the occasion.

Satish Marathe, Patron of Sahakar Bharati who has already reached Pushkar Friday morning to oversee the preparations said “IFFCO MD Dr U S Awasthi would be receiving award tomorrow at 11 am, first I met him and conveyed our decision and later our President Jyotindra Mehta also met him”, he added.

More than 3000 delegates from across India will be attending the two day convention. From Karnataka alone more than 200 delegates are participating. And the story is not different from other states, said an official of Sahakar Bharati.

The discussions will be held on different topics including farmers’ loan waiver. Some sessions will be devoted to discussing amendments in cooperative Acts and ensuring development through cooperatives.

Speaking to press reporters Sahakar Bharati National General Secretary Uday Joshi informed that several representatives of Self Help Groups from across the country are invited and they will be allowed to setup exhibition stalls free of cost. The valedictory address will be delivered by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, he informed.

Sahakar Bharati organizes National Conference once in three years. During the conference Sahakar Bharati will prepare its road map for the next three years. Earlier, the National Conferences were held in Mumbai, Delhi, Bhopal, Bangalore and Ahmadabad.

Sahakar Bharati has assumed importance ever since Modi govt came into power with practically spearheading the cooperative movement in the country. Recently, it helped organized an impressive meeting of cooperators with the Niti Aayog.
