Sah Bharati seeks support for a Party which will bring golden era for co-ops

In a bid to highlight the accomplishments of the Modi government in the cooperative sector, Sahakar Bharati is urging its members to support a government that promises to bring about a golden era in cooperatives.

In a comprehensive four-page pamphlet, Sahakar Bharati commends various initiatives undertaken by the Ministry of Cooperation under the leadership of Amit Shah. These include the introduction of model bye-laws for Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS), the digitalization of PACS, relief measures extended to sugar cooperatives, comprehensive support for urban cooperative banks, the establishment of three national-level cooperative bodies, the creation of a cooperative database, and the upcoming cooperative policy.

The pamphlet also highlights amendments to the Multi-State Cooperative Societies (MSCS) Act, aimed at integrating cooperatives into the mainstream economy. It emphasizes the regulatory parity achieved for Urban Cooperative Banks (UCBs) with commercial banks under the Reserve Bank of India’s purview.

In a recent meeting in Haridwar, the national executive of Sahakar Bharati resolved to launch a nationwide voter awareness campaign titled “Matdata Jagriti” (Voter Awareness). This campaign aims to ensure that citizens are fully informed about their voting rights, with the goal of achieving 100% voter turnout.

“Sabal Sahakar Se Hi Samriddh Bharat Ki Kalpana Sambhav Hai” (A prosperous India is possible only through strong cooperatives) reads the slogan of the campaign, urging voters to support a government that strengthens the cooperative movement.

With approximately 29 crore voters associated with various cooperative entities such as PACS, self-help groups, dairy cooperatives, fisheries cooperatives, weavers’ cooperatives, credit societies, and UCBs, Sahakar Bharati anticipates significant support for its cause in the upcoming elections.

The organization is actively engaging with cooperative workers and stakeholders through social media and direct outreach, distributing informational materials and encouraging them to ensure 100% voter turnout.

As the nation gears up for the 18th Lok Sabha elections, Sahakar Bharati aims to propel the cooperative movement to new heights, advocating for a democratically elected government with a full mandate and a renewed focus on cooperative development.
