Sahakar Bharati constitutes Committee on MSCS Act; to submit report to govt

Despite the postponement of the crucial meeting called to discuss the draft of amendments in the MSCS Act 2002, cooperators continue to write to the govt. registering their protest on being left out. At its end, Sahakar Bharati has constituted a committee to examine the proposed amendments in the Multi State Co-op Act, 2002.

This Committee has been formed under the leadership of Ad Susmita Shahadatta who is also In charge of the Legal Cell of Sahakar Bharati. The Committee is expected to submit its take on the subject during the national executive council meeting. It bears recall that Sahakar Bharati has convened a meeting of the national executive council at Belagavi (Karnataka) on 16/17 February 2019.

Sahakar Bharati will submit the memorandum to the Central Government regarding the proposed Amendment Draft on the MSCS Act after the NEC meeting”, said Prof Dr Uday Joshi, Gen Secretary of Sahakar Bharati.

In a parallel development, in a letter addressed to Union Minister Radha Mohan Singh and forwarded to all the top officials from Secretary to Deputy Commissioner Biscomaun Chairman Sunil Singh contests the definition of stake-holders as advanced by the ministry and says that real stake-holders are elected persons like himself.

To quote from the letter “As such, I Dr. Sunil Kumar Singh, holds the post of Chairman of Bihar State Cooperative Marketing Union Ltd, an Apex Cooperative Institution of Bihar, with Vice Chairman of NAFED and Directorship in KRIBHCO. BISCOMAUN works for the welfare of Farmers in Bihar.”

It further reads “Recently by the firm dedication of BISCOMAUN under my chairmanship the distribution of Fertilizer in Bihar on M.R.P. via P.O.S. Machine has led to such a huge success that black marketing of fertilizer in Bihar has totally been removed by the said initiation.”

“I hold a long experience in the cooperative sector. At different occasions I also used to participate on behalf of India in ICA (International Cooperative Alliance), and also been a participant in Board Meetings of different National Level Cooperative Institutions (N.C.C.F, N.C.U.I., Vamnicom, Nafscob, etc)”, Sunil claims.

“Due to my grounded connection with the cooperative laws of the National / State Federation my participation in the meeting on the Bill for the purpose of proposed amendment which is an issue of discussion as Stake Holder in the meeting to be held on 1st February 2019 is very necessary”, he says.
