A retired IAS in Uttar Pradesh has been arrested by the special investigating team of the Economic Offences Wing for his involvement in the multi-crore rupee scam in Labour and Construction Cooperative Federation. He was the director of the state’s mining dept at the time of scam.
The SIT has said the erring official had committed serious irregularities in awarding a contract to the Laccfed.
Sources say the SIT has gathered enough evidence against the retired bureaucrat and his culpability can easily be proved. He lined his pockets with huge money in the scam, sources add.
It is worth mentioning that the investigating team is also probing the retired IAS’s involvement in several other major scams.
