Rajasthan first state to host Sahakar Masala Fair

Those cooperatives which produce masala (spices) will be able to showcase their products from May 10 to 20, in Jawahar Arts Center in Jaipur. The Department of Cooperation of Rajasthan is organizing National Cooperative Masala Fair, said Vijay Sharma, Additional Registrar, Cooperative Department, reports local media.

The department has asked cooperatives dealing in the products to maintain attractive packing, purity of spices, competitive price as the credibility of cooperatives is at stake. In the cooperative Masala fair, there will also be arrangements for grinding of masala on the spot as well as the whole and grilled spices.

Additional Registrar Sharma said that in the cooperative sector, Rajasthan is the only state in the country which has been organizing Sahakar Masala Fair for many years and has been taking initiative to provide pure spices to the residents of Jaipur.

He said the Jaipur residents are waiting for Sahakar Masala Fair in their city. The fair has been re cognized at national level. He instructs local officials to send quality spices of their respective departments to various institutions.

To draw crowds of the Jaipur residents, the cooperative masala fair will be made multi-product and attractive with production and sale of high quality cooperative products and spices.

The time of cooperative masala fair will be from 11 am to 9 pm and admission will be free. He said the organizing of the cooperative masala fair will benefit both the productive farmers and the common men.

He said the main purpose of organizing Sahakar Masala Fair is to provide pure spices to the residents of Jaipur as well as to help farmers through cooperatives.
