The beleaguered cooperative leader from Odisha Jagneshwar Babu has had some support from public at last on the issue of his handcuffing and alleged illegal detention.
Odisha Jan Morcha activists are angry at the arrest of their general secretary Jagneshwar. They blocked traffic on the road between Pankojli and Cuttack demanding release of their leader. Scores of OJM workers participated in the blockade.
The protestors shouted that their leader has been framed and all allegations levelled against him are baseless.
It is worth mentioning that Jagneshwar had earlier been arrested by the vigilance cell of the Odisha police for his involvement in defrauding the state cooperative bank to the tune of Rs 36 crore.
