PM talks of Co-ops & Nano from Red Fort; calls them game changer

Addressing the nation on the occasion of 77th Independence Day from the rampart of Red Fort in New Delhi, among other things, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid emphasis on the cooperative sector and its latest gift to humanity– Nano range of fertilizers. Modi said cooperatives play a significant role in the economy of the country and that the spraying of Nano urea through drones is going to be a game changer.

The Prime Minister also said from the Red fort, “We will give skill training to women and train them to operate as well as repair drones. The Government of India will provide drones to thousands of such Women Self Help Groups”.

“We will initiate making drone services available for our agricultural work. To begin with, we will start building 15 thousand Women Self Help Groups, which will give flight to the dream of enabling a robust drone training mission”, he underlined.

The PM said that a separate Ministry of Cooperation has been created to strengthen cooperatives, modernize them and strengthen the biggest unit of democracy in every nook and corner of the country.

“Ministry of Cooperation is spreading a network of cooperatives in the country, ensuring that the voices of even the poorest individuals are heard, their needs are met, and they can contribute to the nation’s development”, PM added.

He stressed that India has chosen the path of “Sahkar se Samriddhi”.

He further added, “The government allocated Rs 10 lakh crore as urea subsidy for farmers. To give urea that costs Rs 3,000 per bag globally at a cheaper rate of Rs 300 per bag to farmers, the government allocated Rs 10 lakh crore as urea subsidy”.

The PM informed the nation from Red Fort that bags of urea which are sold at Rs. 3,000 in some global markets are being given to farmers at not more than Rs 300.
