The villages adopted by Pradeshik Cooperative Federation have shown progress and the women of these villages have begun getting employment. Under the Kaushal Vikas Scheme, the federation is giving sewing training to women and about two thousand of them are engaged in this.
Addressing cooperators’ workshop organized in the Chaudhary Charan Singh PG College last week, PCF Chairman Aditya Yadav said cooperatives are the backbone of rural development.
Elaborating his point, Yadav said it is due to the efforts of cooperative societies that farmers are not facing shortage of urea in the state. And that apart, there are laboratories equipped with the latest facilities that test soil and provide farmers with the knowledge about their soil health.
He said” in every Kisan Mela and Seminar we urge farmers to change crop cycle and adopt modern agricultural practices”.
Appreciating UP Cooperative Minister Shiv Pal Singh Yadav’s efforts, he said cooperative banks are providing loans to women at the rate of 3 percent interest.
Earlier, addressing the 67th Annual General Meeting of District Cooperative Banks, Shivpal Singh had announced that cooperative banks would provide loans to women at a negligible interest rate of 3 percent.
PCF Chairman said government first priority would be to develop farmers and their villages. During his visit, he planted trees and urged the college officials to take care of these plants.
IFFCO Director Yogendra Singh said ”we will plant 5,000 trees in Jasawantnagar, UP and the beginning has been done from Hawara by Shiv Pal Singh Yadav. As we did in the last year, we will provide the required infrastructure to ensure supply of green urea to farmers at reasonable rates, he added.
