In line with the vision of “Sahkar se Samriddhi”, the second meeting of the National Level Coordination Committee (NLCC) was held on Wednesday in New Delhi under the chairmanship of Dr. Ashish Kumar Bhutani, Secretary, Ministry of Cooperation.
The high-level meeting focused on accelerating the formation and strengthening of 2 lakh new Multipurpose Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (MPACS), Dairy Cooperative Societies (DCS), and Fishery Cooperative Societies (FCS) across all panchayats and villages in the country. The deliberations reflected a strong collective resolve to ensure timely and effective implementation of this ambitious nationwide initiative.
During the meeting, National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), and National Fisheries Development Board (NFDB) delivered detailed presentations reviewing the progress made so far. The agencies also outlined the current status, expected timelines, and responsibilities assigned for seamless execution of the project.
An Action Taken Report on the directions issued by the Minister in the previous meeting was presented, and detailed discussions were held on the next steps required to further strengthen the implementation framework.
The meeting was attended in person by senior officials including Pankaj Kumar Bansal, Additional Secretary, and Siddharth Jain, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Cooperation, along with Shaji K. V., Chairman of National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development.
Members of the NLCC and senior ministry officials were also present, while Registrars of Cooperative Societies (RCS) and senior officials from all States and Union Territories joined the deliberations virtually.
The initiative marks a significant step toward strengthening grassroots cooperatives and deepening the cooperative movement across rural India.
