NICM, Chennai, has entered into a landmark collaboration with the Magic Bus India Foundation, Chennai, through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed earlier this week.

This initiative marks a significant step in equipping students from NICM’s HDCM, MBA, and other long-term programmes with the tools needed to thrive in a rapidly evolving job market.

The core focus of the partnership is to provide advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) training along with critical life and employability skills, making students future-ready in the truest sense.

Magic Bus, a respected non-profit organisation with a strong footprint in youth development, will deliver the training under the prestigious IBM AI Training Program. With its mission of enabling young people from marginalised communities to transition successfully from education to sustainable livelihoods, Magic Bus brings to NICM both experience and expertise in skilling interventions.

The AI training offered under this programme is aligned with industry requirements and leverages IBM’s globally recognised certification, thereby offering NICM students a tangible edge in the job market.

Under the terms of the MoU, students will receive hands-on training in essential AI tools and concepts, with a curriculum tailored to meet the evolving expectations of employers in the digital economy.

At the same time, the programme will integrate life skills and employability training, such as communication, teamwork, and problem-solving—areas in which Magic Bus has built a strong reputation across India.

The overarching aim is to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and real-world application, empowering students not only with technical know-how but also with the soft skills essential for professional success.

The MoU signing ceremony was attended by NICM Director G. Suresh, faculty members, and Er. L. Naveen along with his team from Magic Bus India Foundation. Their presence underscored the shared commitment of both institutions to transforming the learning ecosystem at NICM.

The IBM certification that students will receive upon completion of the training is expected to significantly enhance their employability, particularly in technology-driven sectors that are increasingly seeking AI-literate professionals.

This collaboration is particularly impactful for students from underserved backgrounds, many of whom may not otherwise have access to such advanced training or industry-recognised certification.

By opening up this opportunity, NICM and Magic Bus are not only boosting individual student prospects but also contributing to a larger goal of inclusive development in India’s higher education landscape.

As the country’s digital economy continues to expand, initiatives like this are becoming vital in preparing the next generation of skilled professionals. The partnership between NICM and Magic Bus thus sets a precedent for how educational institutions and social organisations can work together to create meaningful and sustainable change.
