NCUI, Vamnicom & IFFCO join others in celebrating Constitution Day

The Constitution Day was observed on 26th November, 2023 by the co-operators from across the nation with NCUI President Dileep Sanghani holding a meeting on the subject in Amreli.

The Day was observed at the campus of VAMNICOM in the presence of all faculties, staff members and PGDM-ABM students to commemorate officially the acceptance of the constitution of India on 26th November, 1949 by the Constituent Assembly, informs a press release issued by VAMNICOM.

Despite having a tough schedule, Dr U S Awasthi, MD of IFFCO who is on a tour of Bihar wrote on X “My Best Wishes to countrymen for the Constitution Day. We are proud Indians as our Constitution is the biggest symbol of our #democracy which gives us rights and guides us about our duties also. Thanks Dr Ambedkar for making the Constitution of India.”

Sanghani discussed the Constitution in the Constitution Day symposium organized by the Director of Prosecution in Amreli. District Government Advocate Jayantbhai Rajyaguru, DYSP Shri Bhanderi, District Bar Association Head Shri Chandreshbhai, Senior Advocate Shri Muzaffarbhai Syed and other dignitaries were present, wrote Sanghani along with posting a picture of the event.

Co-founder of Sahakar Bharati, Satish Marathe attended a symposium as the Guest of Honour, organized by Mumbai University in memory of Dr Balasaheb Ambedkar. The Thesis of discussion was : The Problem of Rupee; its origin and solution”.

At Vamnicom, R.K. Menon, Registrar said that the Indian constitution is the largest and the most vibrant written constitution adopted by any sovereign democratic country in the world. It was prepared by B.R. Ambedkar and members of the constituent assembly.

The aim of celebrating this day is to educate and remind the citizens about the importance of the constitution and relentless efforts of the Drafting Committee to give social, cultural, and religious freedom to the citizens of India. He also said that it is the duty of the citizens of India to read and understand the importance of the Indian constitution, Menon urged.

Dr. A.K Asthana, Associate Professor recited the preamble of constitution which was repeated by gathering. Dr. A.K. Asthana emphasized on the connection of the constitution of India to the cooperative sector. Our constitution advocates a democratic system and one out of seven cooperative principles is “Democratic Member Control”. So, it can be inferred that the constitution of India through its democratic values is the DNA of governance and management of cooperatives till today.

President of India Smt Droupadi Murmu unveiled a statue of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar on Constitution Day (26th November) in the Supreme Court premises. The statue is the first of its kind – Dr Ambedkar dressed as a lawyer. The Chief Justice of India Shri Dhananjaya Y. Chandrachud took the decision to have this statue. #ConstitutionDay2023

Speaking on the occasion Chandrachud said “Dr. Ambedkar really belongs to all of us. Gone are the days when we can say that the people call him the leader of the untouchables. He represents the entire nation. He represents the voice of the nation.”
