MP: Cases of fraud in many co-op banks

There are allegations of corruption and fraud in several district cooperative banks in MP. There are cases where bribes worth crores have been accepted while recruiting staff for these banks.

The branches in Jhiriniya, Sanawad, Kuan and Barwaha are the ones that have reported scams. Police investigations are underway in several cases.

Free Press Journal reports : there are 63 DCB branches with 187 committees and some :committee managers are millionaires. Sources are quoted as saying contractual workers have been made cashiers and contractual assistants promoted to the status of committee members.

Retired employees have been recruited again and all kinds of irregularities are being committed with impunity, say sources.
