Minister warns Multi State Co-op Societies

The Maharashtra Cooperation Minister has said that multi-state credit cooperative societies based in the state are about to face investigations of their unlawful money laundering activities.

It has been announced that a commission will be set up in order to expose those criminal activities and protect the interests of common investors.

The minister announced, the issue of transferring the plots of land to the housing societies would soon be taken up. A single-window system might be established towards this end.

The whole transfer of plots to housing societies should be cleared off from the involvement of too many government departments hindering a smooth transfer, remarked the minister.

Observers keeping tabs on the cooperative affairs believe the bold announcements made by the minister would put a period to the whole business of converting black money into white one and bring about wholesome changes in the cooperative sector of Maharashtra.
