A conference on the theme of “Farmers Awareness Programme” was recently organised for the farmers and members of Cooperative societies at NSRICM, Kalyani in Nadia district in West Bengal in collaboration with fertilizer co-operative giant Kribhco.
Dr. P. K. Upadhyayay, Regional Director (I/C) of NSRICM who was the Chief Guest delivered a speech that set out agriculture and cooperative as the central theme of the conference.
Mr. Md. Ali Hyder DM (Mktg),SMO-Kolkata, Dr. I. A. Khan, Sr. Faculty Member & Course Director and Anupam Mitra, Manager (Mktg), Distt. Nadia interacted with the farmers on the occasion. Over 40 farmers of co-operative Societies attended the conference.
Dr. Khan stressed the role of cooperative for the development of farmers and their cooperative societies. He said it is important to do business through cooperative societies and use their resources for the development.
Mr. Hyder Ali explained to the farmers the proper use of Kribhco fertilizer and pesticides for different crops. Mr. Ali also informed the farmers about free soil test by Kribhco to ensure a better use of seeds, fertiliser and pesticides, etc.
In his concluding remarks, Mr. Anup Mitra talked about the role of Kribhco and its awareness camps to help farmers with the latest information. All the participants learnt a great deal from the training programme conducted by Kribhco and NSRICM, Kalyan.
