K’nataka: Issue of a Co-op official creates ruckus in House

Reinstatement of a corrupt functionary of a cooperative society caused a noisy scene in the Karnataka assembly the other day.

An opposition member had criticised the govt’s decision to bring back an official who had earlier been suspended on corruption charges.

The opposition shouted and complained angrily about the rehabilitation of the tainted official.

There were even suggestions that the state govt was openly encouraging corruption in the cooperative sector.
