The nation is all set to celebrate the 72nd All India Cooperative Week with great enthusiasm from 14th to 20th November 2025.

A series of programmes have been lined up across states to mark the occasion and highlight the year’s theme “Cooperatives as Vehicles for Atmanirbhar Bharat.” The celebrations aim to reaffirm the vital role of the cooperative movement in driving inclusive growth, rural development, and economic self-reliance.

At the national level, the apex body of cooperatives- the National Cooperative Union of India (NCUI)- will organize a grand inaugural event at its headquarters in New Delhi. Delhi Cooperation Minister Ravinder Singh (Indraj) will be the Chief Guest, while ICA-AP President Dr. Chandrapal Singh Yadav, Bijendra Singh, and other eminent cooperative leaders will also attend the occasion.

The event will mark the beginning of week-long discussions and activities highlighting cooperative values, innovation, and community empowerment.

States across the country are preparing to hold their own celebrations.

In Uttar Pradesh, a state-level event will take place in Lucknow, where Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi will be the Chief Guest, accompanied by Cooperation Minister J.P.S. Rathore and Principal Secretary Saurabh Babu. The programme will focus on the theme “Promoting Digitalisation to Enhance Operational Efficiency, Accountability and Transparency.”

In Haryana, the state-level event will be held at DCRUST, Sonipat, where Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini will preside as the Chief Guest, and Cooperation Minister Dr. Arvind Kumar Sharma will attend as the Guest of Honour.

Meanwhile, Odisha will celebrate the week with a unique mass run jointly organized by the Cooperation Department and the State Cooperative Union. The initiative is aimed at spreading awareness about cooperative values and encouraging public participation in the movement.

In Kerala, due to local body elections, the Cooperative Week celebrations have been postponed to the last week of December 2025. The Mattancherry Sarvajanik Co-operative Bank under the chairmanship of P.V. Jayaprasad, announced that the cooperative flag will be hoisted on the revised date, and members and customers will be invited to participate in a series of engaging sessions and community programmes.

The Sikkim State Cooperative Union (SICUN) will hold the 72nd All India Cooperative Week from November 14–20, 2025, themed ‘Cooperatives as Vehicles for Atmanirbhar Bharat.” Chairperson Dr. Mangal Jit Rai said events will be organised across all six districts—Namchi, Gyalzing, Soreng, Mangan, Gangtok, and Pakyong-culminating with a grand closing at SICUN Auditorium.

Each day will highlight sub-themes like digitalisation, rural development, youth and women empowerment, and innovation. The initiative, led by NCUI, aims to strengthen cooperative awareness and Sikkim’s role in India’s self-reliant growth.

The 72nd All India Cooperative Week will feature different themes each day, ranging from digitalization and rural development to youth empowerment, cooperative education, and innovation in business models.

The celebrations across India reflect the unity, resilience, and transformative power of cooperatives in building an Atma Nirbhar Bharat, strengthening local economies, and empowering millions through collective effort and shared prosperity.
