A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between CSC e-Governance Services India Limited and the Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) to provide critical agricultural inputs to Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) under the Central Sector Scheme.

This initiative aims to benefit 10,000 FPOs, driving agricultural productivity and sustainability across the country. The partnership will entail providing essential agricultural inputs like IFFCO Nano Urea Plus, IFFCO Nano DAP, and other resources to these FPOs

The signing ceremony featured key leaders, including Sanjay Rakesh, Managing Director and CEO of CSC SPV, and Yogendra Kumar, Marketing Director of IFFCO.

Reacting to the development, IFFCO MD Dr. U.S. Awasthi tweeted: “IFFCO signed an MoU with CSC SPV @CSCegov_ to provide essential agricultural inputs like IFFCO Nano Urea Plus, IFFCO Nano DAP, and other resources to 10,000 FPOs under the Central Sector Scheme.”

Launched in 2020, the Central Sector Scheme for the Formation and Promotion of 10,000 FPOs aims to empower farmers by reducing production costs, increasing incomes, and strengthening their market presence through collective bargaining. The government envisions FPOs as pivotal to improving rural sustainability and financial viability.

Under this collaboration, FPOs will gain access to fertilizers, seeds, and agrochemicals provided by IFFCO. These inputs are crucial for enhancing productivity and promoting sustainable agricultural practices nationwide. The partnership is expected to create a positive ripple effect across the agricultural supply chain, ultimately fostering a more resilient farming sector.

Addressing the transformative potential of this initiative, Rakesh remarked, “By leveraging the combined services of CSC and IFFCO, small and marginal farmers will experience significant benefits. This initiative goes beyond inputs; it drives rural development and digital empowerment.”

The partnership also highlights a focus on sustainability and climate resilience, critical in the face of evolving agricultural challenges. By equipping farmers with modern tools, resources, and digital services via CSCs, the initiative empowers them to adapt to climate uncertainties and thrive in a competitive market.

Ultimately, this collaboration strives to create an inclusive agricultural ecosystem by uplifting small and marginal farmers. Through digital access to essential information and services, it fosters empowerment, informed decision-making, and long-term rural development.
