IFFCO Chairman Dileep Sanghani on Wednesday paid a courtesy visit to the Union Minister for Health & Family Welfare and Chemicals & Fertilizers, J. P. Nadda, and held wide-ranging discussions on issues of direct relevance to farmers and the cooperative sector. The meeting, held in New Delhi, was also attended by IFFCO Managing Director K. J. Patel and focused primarily on fertilizer availability, distribution mechanisms and practical challenges faced by farmers across the country.

Sanghani said the interaction was positive and solution-oriented, with farmers’ interests placed firmly at the centre of deliberations. He noted that the Union Minister gave patient hearing to the concerns raised through IFFCO and responded with prompt decisions and clear directions to the concerned departments.

During the meeting, issues related to the timely availability of fertilizers, cost factors, distribution systems and ground-level bottlenecks were brought to the notice of the Minister. IFFCO highlighted practical challenges faced by farmers in different regions, particularly during peak sowing seasons, and stressed the need for efficient and uninterrupted supply.

According to Sanghani, detailed and constructive discussions were held on these matters, with the Minister assuring swift action and a solution-driven approach. He added that the directions issued during the meeting would help strengthen fertilizer management and ensure smoother access for farmers nationwide.

Giving top priority to farmers’ welfare, J. P. Nadda took immediate decisions on key issues related to the fertilizer sector. He also issued necessary instructions to senior officials and departments to address concerns raised by IFFCO and the cooperative sector.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Sanghani said these decisive steps reflected the Central Government’s strong commitment to farmers and underscored the “Farmer First” vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He described the decisions as an example of responsive governance and effective coordination between the government and cooperative institutions.

On behalf of the Indian cooperative movement, Sanghani expressed heartfelt gratitude to J. P. Nadda for his sensitivity, promptness and decisive leadership. He said the cooperative sector deeply values the Minister’s continued support, clear guidance and positive initiatives aimed at safeguarding farmers’ interests.

He further observed that IFFCO, as a farmer-owned cooperative, plays a crucial role in conveying grassroots realities to policymakers and ensuring that farmers’ voices are reflected in national decision-making.

Commending the Minister’s approach, Sanghani said Nadda’s leadership demonstrates a strong commitment towards farmers’ welfare and agricultural sustainability. The meeting, he said, reinforced confidence within the cooperative sector that farmer-centric issues are receiving due attention at the highest levels of government.

IFFCO Managing Director K. J. Patel was also present during the meeting. The interaction is expected to further strengthen cooperation between the government and the cooperative sector in addressing challenges faced by farmers and ensuring timely support for agricultural growth.

Later in a tweet IFFCO MD wrote “Today, along with IFFCO Chairman Shri Dileep Sanghani Ji, I had the honour of calling on Union Minister Shri J. P. Nadda Ji in New Delhi. We discussed IFFCO’s commitment to world-class fertilisers, efficient plant operations and timely availability for farmers. We reaffirmed our farmer-first mission, sustainability-driven innovation and continued dedication to providing advanced soil nutrition solutions for Indian agriculture and strengthening cooperative-led agricultural growth nationwide together.”
