Fertilizer cooperatives IFFCO and KRIBHCO delivered an outstanding performance on the inaugural day of the Fertilizer Association of India (FAI) Annual Seminar 2025, securing several prestigious awards across key categories.
The three-day seminar, being held from December 10 to 12 at Hotel Pullman and Novotel in Aerocity, New Delhi, is focused on the theme “Fertilizer Management for Green Future: Catalyzing Farmers’ Empowerment.”
The awards were presented by senior dignitaries including Rajat Kumar Mishra, Secretary, Department of Fertilisers; Dr. Suresh Kumar Chaudhari, Director General, FAI; S. Sankarasubramanian, Chairman, FAI; and Dr. Siba Prasad Mohanty, Co-Chairman, FAI. Their presence added significance to the honours received by both cooperative giants.


Sandeep Ghosh, Unit Head of IFFCO Kalol, earned the Excellence in Safety Award for the unit’s strong adherence to workplace safety practices. In the environment category, Aniruddha Vikram, Unit Head of IFFCO Kandla, was honoured for Environment Protection in the NP/NPK fertiliser plant category without captive acids.
IFFCO’s marketing division also claimed the Special FAI Award for Transfer of Improved Farm Technologies for its efforts to deliver modern agricultural tools and knowledge directly to farmers.
KRIBHCO also marked its strong presence by winning two major recognitions. The cooperative received the Biofertilizers / Organic Fertilisers / City Compost Award 2025 for its commitment to providing high-quality organic supplements and promoting sustainable farming.
The award was presented by Secretary Rajat Kumar Mishra and accepted by KRIBHCO Managing Director S.

IFFCO Managing Director K. J. Patel congratulated all the award recipients from IFFCO and praised their dedication to quality, innovation, and farmer welfare. The recognitions earned by both IFFCO and KRIBHCO reinforced the strong contribution of cooperatives to the fertiliser sector, especially in the areas of sustainability, technology adoption, and farmer empowerment.
With both organisations securing top honours, the opening day of the FAI Annual Seminar 2025 highlighted the leadership of India’s cooperative fertiliser institutions in driving innovation, environmental responsibility, and a greener future for Indian agriculture.
