ICA AP’s 16th Regional Assembly: Indian co-operators leave for Manila

A large delegation of cooperators belonging to various national level cooperative bodies across India are leaving for the Philippines to attend the 16th ICA-AP Regional Assembly to be held between 6-10 November 2023.

The ICA-AP President Dr Chandra Pal Singh, NCUI Chairman Dileepbhai Sanghani and other co-operators have already left for the Philippines last night.

It is gathered that the directors on the board of IFFCO, Kribhco and others have also left India to attend the regional assembly of ICA-AP. The officials of cooperative bodies including IFFCO Cooperative Relations Director Santosh Shukhla, Jitendra Tiwari, NCUI Deputy CEO Savitri Singh, Ritesh Dey and others will also attend the event.

Besides, the Network for the Development of Agricultural Cooperatives in Asia and the Pacific (NEDAC), which is a unique regional forum linking 21 apex cooperative organizations in 12 countries, holds its General Assembly and Executive Committee Meeting 2023 from 5-8 November 2023 in Manila, Philippines. Nafcub President Jyotindra Mehta, Nafscob MD Bhima Subramanyam and others will attend the NEDAC event.

The theme for the ICA-AP 16th Regional Assembly, 11th Cooperative Forum and related events is, “Cooperatives: Our Common Agenda”. The 16th ICA-AP Regional Assembly, 11th Cooperative Forum and related events will be held at Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria in Manila,

The Philippines is hosting the 16th Regional Assembly after two decades since 2003 under the aegis of the Philippines Cooperative Movement. The events are hosted by the Philippines Cooperative Affiliates (PCA) on behalf of the Philippines Cooperative Movement.

The Regional Assembly encompasses the Cooperative Forum, Regional Board Meeting, various other events organized by the Regional Sectoral and Thematic Committees, and the statutory meeting of the Regional Assembly.

During the event, ICA Asia and Pacific Regional Office will also announce the names of winners of the ICA-AP Cooperative Excellence Awards on 8th November 2023. Besides, there are sector-specific specialized committees established in the region to take care of sectoral interests.

In the NEDAC meeting the discussions will be held on the report on NEDAC activities and financial income and expenses 2023, report on the activities of various Sub-Committees on Broad Thematic Areas (BTAs), discussions and finalization of the NEDAC future work plan / activities for two years that is 2023-2025, updates on Membership status and others.
