HPCA pleas to prosecute Registrar of co-op societies

The Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association has argued before the High Court that the registrar, cooperative societies was acting at the behest of the chief minister and therefore his decision was biased.

The cricket association has demanded prosecution of the registrar in his personal capacity as well.

Last year the state govt. had withdrawn its order to cancel leases granted to the HPCA.

A division bench of the Himachal Pradesh High Court has reserved its orders on a Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association petition demanding sueing of the Himachal chief minister and other top ranking state officials. However, the court has directed the registrar of cooperative societies to list the application.

Advocate General of Himachal has said the HPCA concealed material facts from the court. It deliberately did not bring to the notice of the court that the government had withdrawn its letters of taking possession of the HPCA stadium in its application for an amendment into the writ petition.

The writ petition had become infructuous, as the relief claimed by the petitioner was already granted by the government by withdrawing its earlier orders , said the AG.

The AG urged the court to permit the registrar to pass the final order against the statutory proceedings pending before him.
