GUJCOMASOL creates history; doles out 22% dividends

Gujarat State Co-operative Marketing Federation-GUJCOMASOL decided to give 22 percent dividend to its members, which is the highest ever in the history. It was announced In the board meeting held last week presided over by its Chairman Dileepbhai Sanghani.

Besides, the business turnover of Gujcomasol increased from Rs 1700 crore in the 2019-20 FY to Rs 2700 in the 2020-21 financial year.

Sharing the highlights of the meeting, Sanghani told Indian Cooperative, “We are committed to help the farmers of the country and fulfil the vision of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi of doubling the income of farmers”.

“We have decided to give the 22 percent dividend to the 2k members connected with the Gujcomasol. After taking charge as the Chairman of the marketing cooperative, the business turnover has increased from Rs 1314 crore to Rs 2700 only in the span of three years. Besides, the profit increased from Rs 5 crore to Rs 23 crore in 2020-21”, he said while sharing the figures.

He further added that, In a bid to ensure brand building and enhance the business of the co-op, we are in the process to open GUJCO Mall across Gujarat on the lines of Nafed Bazaar. In the first phase we will open 50 Bazaars and after getting the good feedback we will spread the network, he asserted.

We will sell our products and other things through Gujco Mall. It is one of its kind in which farmers and others will get the agriculture inputs and other things under one roof.

The Gujcomasol is also planning to make spices. There are many other plans to take the marketing organization to newer heights. Several development projects are also in progress, Sanghani informed this correspondent.

Besides doing regular activities, the Gujcomasol would also add value to things catering to the needs of the farmers of Gujarat, noted Sanghani.

During Covid-19, the marketing cooperative was also active at ground level and provided helping hands to the needy.

Readers would recall that soon after taking over as the Chairman, Sanghani launched a much sought after market product – Peanut Oil in Amreli.
