GH Amin appointed Chairman of BoM of Cosmos Co-op Bank

In a recent development, Shri Ghanshyambhai H. Amin, a distinguished figure in the co-operative sector and Chairman of Gujarat State Co-operative Union, Ahmedabad, has been appointed as the Chairman of the Board of Management of Cosmos Co-operative Bank Ltd.

This appointment marks a significant milestone for both Shri Amin and Cosmos Bank, which stands among the top most  co-operative banks in India among a total of 1400 such banks nationwide.

With a commendable three-decade-long contribution to the co-operative sector at state, national, and international levels, Amin brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his new role. His leadership is anticipated to steer Cosmos Bank towards greater heights, fostering a more people-centric approach under his dynamic stewardship.

Expressing his dedication to advancing the bank’s success, Amin stated, “I have a long-standing association with Cosmos Bank and am committed to leveraging every opportunity to propel its growth and prosperity.”

His familiarity with the institution dates back to its inception in Gujarat in 2006, where he previously chaired Co-op Bank of Ahmedabad, which later merged into Cosmos Bank along with other co-operative banks in the region.

Highlighting Cosmos Bank’s stellar performance, Amin emphasized its substantial presence across seven states, boasting over 170 branches and serving a clientele exceeding 18 lakhs. The bank’s robust business setup, amounting to ?35,000 crores, underscores its significant contributions, particularly in Gujarat, with a substantial share of loans amounting to ?3,000 crores in the MSME segments.

Following the announcement of Amin’s appointment, social media platforms were abuzz with congratulatory messages from well-wishers. Cosmos Bank’s business is also well spread in Gujarat- a state where Amin is a prominent co-operator.

In a meeting held at Ahmedabad, the Board of Management of Cosmos Bank, led by Chairman Milind Kale, expressed confidence in Shri Amin’s capabilities, foreseeing substantial benefits for the bank from his extensive experience in the co-operative and banking sectors.

Vice Chairman Shri Pravin Gandhi, along with board members and Managing Director Apexita Thipse, also extended their heartfelt congratulations to Shri Amin for assuming this esteemed position, acknowledging his well-deserved recognition.
