As soon as the news of veteran Indian cooperator Dr. Chandra Pal Singh Yadav being re-elected as President of the ICA–Asia Pacific went viral, congratulatory messages began pouring in from all corners of the cooperative world, from national leaders to state-level functionaries to grassroots cooperators, reflecting the widespread admiration for his friendly, inclusive, and people-oriented leadership.
From NCUI President Dileep Sanghani, Nafed Chairman Jethabhai Ahir, Nafscob Chairman K. Ravinder Rao, NCCF Chairman Vishal Singh, NCDC MD Pankaj Bansal, and IFFCO MD K. J. Patel, every major cooperator, extended warm wishes on this historic achievement.
NCUI President Dileep Sanghani, who could not attend the Colombo event due to social obligations, expressed his joy on Facebook, writing, “Heartiest congratulations and best wishes to Dr. Chandra Pal Singh Yadav on being appointed President of ICA–AP. A proud moment for Indian cooperatives.”


As soon as the news broke, several cooperative WhatsApp groups comprising national, state, and grassroots leaders flooded with congratulatory messages, hailing Dr. Yadav’s win as a matter of national pride.
Former Biscomaun Chairman Sunil Kumar Singh wrote, “On being re-elected as President of ICA (Asia-Pacific), we extend our heartfelt congratulations on behalf of the entire cooperative fraternity.”
ICA Youth Committee President Harsh Sanghani also congratulated Dr. Yadav, stating, “Congratulations to @chandrapal_singhyadav on being re-elected as ICA–AP President. Best wishes to @alireza_banaeifar and all newly elected Board Members for a successful term.”
Dr. Chandra Pal Singh Yadav’s re-election has once again placed India at the forefront of the global cooperative movement, with cooperators across the spectrum celebrating this as a victory of experience, trust, and collective leadership.
It bears recall that veteran Indian cooperator Dr. Chandra Pal Singh Yadav has been re-elected unopposed as the President of the International Cooperative Alliance–Asia Pacific (ICA-AP). The elections for the President, Vice-Presidents, and Board Members were held on Thursday during the Regional Assembly in Colombo.
Meanwhile, Adili Wubuli (China) and Datuk Seri Dr. Abdul Fattah Abdullah (Malaysia) were also elected as the two Vice-Presidents of ICA-AP. They edged out Abdelfattah M. Q. Al-Shalabi (Jordan), who lost the Vice-President election.
According to the election process, the Board of Directors is elected first, followed by the election of the President, Vice-President, and other office-bearers. For the 11 seats on the ICA-AP Board, 12 candidates had filed nominations.
