From North to South & East to West, India celebrates Co-op Week

Cooperatives across the country have lined up to celebrate the 68th All Indian Cooperative Week with full gusto and enthusiasm. On the first day of the week-long celebrations, cooperators greeted each other and many of them hoisted the cooperative flag at their premises. The theme of this year is “Prosperity Through Cooperation” ( Sahkar Se Samriddhi).

If the apex body-NCUI kicked off the cooperative fair at its premises comprising 70 stalls in which SHGs and co-ops from 20 states will display their products, Pune based Vamnicom organized an event in which Union Cooperative Secretary DK Singh participated.

To mark the celebrations, the cooperative lender NCDC has planned to have the LINAC-NCDC Fisheries Business Incubation Centre (LIFIC) at its LINAC Institute at Gurugram which is to be inaugurated by Union Minister Parshottam Rupala on 16th November. The apex body of sugar co-ops-National Federation of Cooperative Factories (NFCSF) is organizing the Efficiency Awards distribution ceremony on 16th November at the NCUI Auditorium, New Delhi.

On the occasion, Cooperators also shared their messages through social media. Nafcub President Jyotindrabhai Mehta wrote, ” On the auspicious occasion of the 68th All India Cooperative Week, greetings to all those who are connected with cooperatives. Sahakar Bharati calls upon you to work for the growth of the cooperative movement”.

ICA-AP Regional Director Balu Iyer in his message wrote, ” @ICAAPAC wishes joyous celebration of #Cooperative week in #India! Much to celebrate-fundamental right, new ministry of cooperation, largest movement, contributes to human development, meets essential needs; known brands”.

Nafscob Chairman Konduru Ravinder Rao wrote, ” Wishing the cooperative fraternity a very happy cooperative week!”.

Sahakar Bharati’s one of the founder members and RBI Central Board Director Satish Marathe wrote, ” Let us Re Energise CoOps to attain Equitable & Sustainable Growth of Bharat! Bina Sanskar, Nahi Sahakar, Bina Sahakar, Nahi Uddhar ! Safal Sahakar, Samruddha Bharat !!”. The news of celebrations from other parts of the country are also pouring in at the desk of the Indian Cooperative.

In Uttar Pradesh, Union Minister of State for Cooperatives BL Verma participated in a seminar on ” Role of Cooperatives in Tackling Covid Pandemic and Strengthening Health Cooperatives” organized at the PCU Auditorium. Lucknow. UP Cooperative Minister Mukut Bihari Verma was present on the occasion.

In Himachal Pradesh, the state Cooperative Minister Suresh Bhardwaj attended an event organized at Kangra district of the state. There is news that the state Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur is all set to participate in a co-op function to be organized at Una district of the state on 19 November. .

In Jammu Kashmir, Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Singh e-launched the modernization of Whole Sale Cooperative Super Bazar, Jammu. On the occasion, he said under the guidance of PM Shri Narendra Modi and Home & Cooperation Minister Amit Shah, the country is witnessing renaissance in the Cooperative movement.

In Manipur, Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament Maharaja Sanajaoba Leishemba attended the function organized by MSCU & RCS and also hoisted the co-operative flag.

In Tripura, addressing a function organized at Agartala on the occasion, the State Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb said, “Cooperative societies have a firm commitment of building an inclusive society for all and an important role in making our Tripura a model state as envisioned by Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi”.

In Goa, former Chief Minister of the State Ravi Naik attended a function organized by Goa State Cooperative Union.

In Gujarat, under the joint aegis of Sahakar Bharati and North Gujarat Co-Operative Credit Societies and Urban Banks Federations, a function was organized in the presence of the co-operative commissioner of the state in Mehsana.

A workshop was organized for the youth on the occasion of the Cooperative Week by the Cooperative Education Regional Project, Pilibhit, Uttar Pradesh.

Phool Singh Meena, MLA from Udaipur Rural, Rajasthan participated in the program organized by Udaipur Mahila Samridhi Bank on the occasion of All India Cooperative Week.

Cooperatives have also set up their stalls at the Trade fair at Pragati Maidan being held from 14th November to 27th November.
