Fact-finding Committee visits Vamnicom

A retired Additional Secretary level officer recently visited Pune based VAMNICOM on a fact-finding mission to collect evidence and records on the issue of a spat between former Director Sanjib Patjoshi and a faculty Mr P Chattopadhyay.

Earlier, Chairman of Vamnicom Dr Chandra Pal Singh Yadav had constituted a one man fact-finding committee to go into the matter and submit the report after the situation worsened at the premier cooperative institution.

According to sources, Sanjib Patjoshi did not turn up before the Committee. Patjoshi is currently posted as Joint Secretary to the Government of India in the Ministry of Panchayati Raj. The Committee plans to send him a notice as its next move, inform sources.

Reader would recall Patjoshi had terminated P Chattopadhyay while relinquishing his position. On the assumption of additional charge of Vamnicom, N Satyanarayan restored his status including all his facilities such as computer and internet. Chattopadhyay was asked to focus on his annual action plan and resume his usual working schedule till the Committee report comes in.

Readers would note the atmosphere at the premier cooperative training institute worsened with an anonymous letter addressed to a lady staff with a sexually suggestive content. The two sides first went to police and later to court.
