Ex-MP (BJP) Ramsinh Rathwa and Pabitra Kumar have taken the charge as the new Chairman and Vice-Chairman of Trifed on Monday in the presence of many VIPs including Union Minister of State for Steel and Rural Development Faggan Singh Kulaste, former Minister of Tribal Affairs Jual Oram and others.

Rathwa and Kumar hail from Gujarat and Odisha respectively. Readers would recall that the election of the board of directors of Trifed was held recently unopposed in the first week of this month. The tenure of the newly elected team will be of three years.

Soon after taking charge, talking to the Indian Cooperative, the newly elected Chairman Rathwa said, “We will work to strengthen and improve the quality of life of tribal communities. Along with the board members, I will work to take the Trifed to newer heights”.

After the announcement of his name as the new Chairman of Trifed, the news spread like wildfire on social media. From Union Minister and Ex-CM Jharkhand Arjun Munda to Union Fertilizer Minister Mansukhbhai Mandaviya to many other leaders greeted Rathwa on this victory.

Besides, recently, the Trifed Chairman along with the Gujarat Regional Office team met the Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and other state leaders and apprised them of the work being done by Trifed in the state.

It bears recalling that Trifed is coming up with TRIFOOD -TRIBAL FOOD PARK at Jagdalpur, Bastar, Chattisgarh. TRIFED is also preparing a mega plan to cover Jammu and Kashmir under various schemes, as revealed by a tweet by its MD Pravir Krishna recently.

Trifed MD Pravir Krishna tweeted “Happy to welcome Shahid Chaudhary Secretary, Tribal Affairs Govt of Jammu & Kashmir to the TRIFED FAMILY. A Blueprint for the promotion of Tribal Enterprise in the state to benefit 2.5 lac tribal families planned.”

TRIFED is a national Cooperative under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs with a basic mandate of bringing about socio-economic development of the tribal population of the country.
