Cooperators from across India joined the Vande Mataram campaign to celebrate the 150th anniversary of India’s national song, “Vande Mataram.” The nationwide initiative saw enthusiastic participation from cooperative institutions, reflecting deep patriotic fervor and unity.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the year-long commemoration of 150 years of the national song Vande Mataram in New Delhi, describing it as a sacred mantra symbolizing India’s unity, strength, and devotion to Maa Bharati. He released a commemorative coin and postage stamp, urging citizens to carry forward the timeless spirit of patriotism and national pride embodied in Vande Mataram.
National Cooperative Union of India (NCUI) Chairman Dileep Sanghani expressed his sentiments, saying, “The sacred melody dedicated to Mother India-Vande Mataram- completes 150 glorious years of its eternal journey. On this momentous occasion, let us pay our heartfelt tribute and bow to this immortal creation.


ICA-AP President Chandra Pal Singh Yadav also extended his greetings, emphasizing the emotional and cultural significance of Vande Mataram in uniting Indians across generations and inspiring cooperative values of solidarity and nation-building.
IFFCO Managing Director K. J. Patel wrote on social media platform X, “Responding to the call of our Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, today the eternal song ‘Vande Mataram’ resonates in every village and city, in every Indian heart.
These are the same words that energized India’s freedom struggle- each line filled with the rhythm of our land and the light of patriotism. Written by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay, this immortal song continues to awaken national pride and devotion even after 150 years.

At the National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC), Regional Office in Lucknow, officers and staff collectively sang the national song to mark this historic milestone, expressing their devotion, dedication, and commitment to the nation.
The Union Ministry of Cooperation also commemorated the occasion with a mass singing event titled “Celebrating 150 Glorious Years of the National Song – Vande Mataram!” The event was graced by Joint Secretaries Shri Anand Kumar Jha and Shri Siddharth Jain, along with ministry officers and staff, who together echoed the spirit of unity and patriotism.


The programme saw the participation of NCUI Chief Executive Dr. Sudhir Mahajan, Deputy Chief Executive Savitri Singh, senior officials, and employees, all joining in the collective singing of the song to express pride and commitment to the nation.
In addition, members of three national cooperative WhatsApp groups, comprising cooperators from across India, also shared their heartfelt messages and tributes on the occasion, further amplifying the spirit of “Vande Mataram” across the cooperative fraternity
