The cooperative sector across India has extended warm congratulations to C.P. Radhakrishnan on his election as the 15th Vice President of the country.
From national-level cooperative institutions to grassroots leaders, the victory of the NDA nominee has been hailed as a moment of pride and promise for Indian democracy.
As soon as the results were declared, National Cooperative Union of India (NCUI) President Dileepbhai Sanghani congratulated C.P. Radhakrishnan, stating, ‘Hearty congratulations and best wishes to you on being elected by a huge margin as the 15th Vice President of India.
Sahakar Bharati President Uday Joshi also offered his wishes and recalled a courtesy visit to the Mumbai Raj Bhavan where Radhakrishnan, accompanied by Satish Marathe, had engaged in discussions reflecting his inclusive approach.
Joining them, National Cooperative Consumers’ Federation (NCCF) Chairman Vishal Singh wrote, “I extend my heartfelt congratulations to C.P. Radhakrishnan on being elected as the 15th Vice President of India and wish him a successful tenure. The country will benefit from your long experience in public life and your knowledge of law and justice.”
Similarly, National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) Board Member Dhananjay Singh expressed confidence in Radhakrishnan’s leadership.
He stated, “Heartiest congratulations on your resounding victory in the Vice Presidential election. We firmly believe that under your leadership and inspiring guidance, the nation will gain new momentum and strength, and democratic ideals will become deeper and stronger.”
Radhakrishnan, a veteran political leader from Tamil Nadu and a two-time Member of Parliament, won the Vice Presidential election with 452 votes against 300 secured by opposition candidate Justice B. Sudershan Reddy, ensuring a comfortable margin of 152 votes. The outcome has been widely seen as a testimony to his non-confrontational style and cross-party goodwill.
Cooperative leaders said his victory would inspire the sector as well, since his inclusive and consensus-driven approach resonates strongly with the cooperative spirit.
They expressed optimism that under his Vice Presidency, cooperative institutions, deeply rooted in India’s democratic and social fabric, would continue to gain recognition and strength.
