Chattisgarh farmers have Ramesh Bais as saviour as district cooperative banks in the state are reported to harass them.

BJP leader Bais met Chief Minister Raman Singh and complained him that even for small loans Cooperatives banks are asking farmers to morgage their land.

Lakhan Lal Sahu, who is member of governing Council of apex body NCUI, could not be contacted as his mobile phone was switched off. Sahu also belongs to BJP and is credited with the idea of proposing Padmashree for farmers.

He had argued that when film personalities and persons attached to arts and literature could get it, why not the farmers. He demanded debate on this in Parliament and expected peoples’ representatives to ponder over it.
