UP Consumer Fed: Dwivedi assures of disbursing salaries

Bhartiya Janata Party MLA (Banda) and Uttar Pradesh Upbhokta Sahakari Sangh Limited Chairman Prakash Dwivedi said salaries of employees of the federation will soon be released and the situation would get better in the next two months.

Talking to Indian Cooperative Dwivedi said he had met Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and apprised him of the financial difficulties of the cooperative body. The chief minister assured him all help in defusing the financial crisis, Dwivedi claimed.

It bears recall that Uttar Pradesh Upbokhta Sahakari Sangh Limited employees have accused the outgoing Chairman Prakash Dwivedi over not releasing their salaries for the past six months and protested the delay in payment.

The BJP MLA further said he has also urged the chief minister to appoint Managing Director of the Society. Presently, the society is without a MD. The BJP law maker admitted that there has been delay in the payment of employee’s salaries. The whole amount to be paid to the employees works out to Rs 4 crore.

Blaming the previous Samajwadi Party government, Dwivedi said when in office they had stripped the Society of orders for paddy and wheat procurement thus denying it the main source of income. This is what had primarily given rise to the financial crisis, he asserted.

“It is not the first time in the history of the society that employees are not getting salary on time. In the past also, they have faced a similar situation”, he informed.

However, the employees union has accused the chairman of mismanaging the election of the society and indulging in wrong practices by making their relatives as the board members, Dwivedi has denied this charge.

Employees have also lodged complaint to Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and State Cooperative Minister Mukut Bihari Verma but have yet to get a reply from them.

Uttar Pradesh Upbhokta Sahakari Sangh Limited is registered under the Multi-Sate Cooperative Act 2002 and has operations in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
