Co-operators mourn demise of Heeraba; pray for PM’s strength

Co-operators across the nation have expressed their condolences on the demise of Heeraba, mother of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the early hours of Friday morning. Heeraba was admitted to a hospital in Ahmedabad a couple of days ago but due to her advanced age, doctors could not save her. She was a hundred year old.

Prime Minister Modi was the first to tweet about his mother’s passing, plunging the entire nation including his family members and friends into gloom. Hailing his mother as the epitome of values and hard-work, Modi paid glowing tributes to her through the tweet.

Unable to make it to Gandhinagar from Amreli on time to attend the last journey of Heeraba, NCUI President Dileep Sanghani expressed his pain saying “its takes 5-6 hours to reach Gandhinagar from Amreli; I can’t make it”.

Later on, Sanghani expressed his condolences “I am saddened to hear about the demise of Hiraben, mother of our beloved Prime Minister. May god give strength to the family. May her soul rest in peace”.

On a two-day tour of Karnataka, the story was no different for Amit Shah, Union Minister and a close associate of Modi. He also took to twitter to express his condolences “Prime minister @narendramodi, very sad to know about the demise of respected Mataji Hira Ben. Mother is the first friend and teacher in a person’s life, the pain of losing her is undoubtedly the biggest pain in the world”.

ICA-AP President and Kribhco Chairman Dr Chandra Pal Singh Yadav wrote, “I express deepest condolences from the cooperative fraternity to Shri Narendra Modi, over the sudden demise of his mother. She was a hundred years old”.

IFFCO MD Dr U S Awasthi wrote, “It is very sad to know about the demise of respected Mataji Hira Ben. The sorrow of losing a mother is the biggest sorrow in the world. I pray to God that the Lord may give her soul a place in his feet and may the soul rest in peace. Om Shanti”.

Nafcub President Jyotindra Mehta said, “With the sad demise of Hiraba, the nation is aggrieved and in deep shock. A mother’s exit at any age is an irreparable loss. Hiraba gave the nation a gem of world leaders, who has been a true Indian with all the qualities a world leader requires. She was a saintly personality, who provided lessons for life to him till her last days. We mourn her death and are with Narendrabhai in his time of mourning. May the almighty rest her in eternity and provide her with moksh”.

RBI Central Board Director and one of the founders of Sahakar Bharati Satish Marathe wrote, “Sahakar Bharati expresses profound grief at the passing away of Smt Heeraben Modi and conveys condolences on behalf of the CoOp Sector to Hon PM Modiji and the members of his Family. May her Soul attain Sadgati, Om Shanti, Shanti, Shanti”.

Indian Cooperative also joins others in paying homage to the departed soul.
