Co-op Week concludes; Somsekhar & Sanghani laud co-op’s potential

The Cooperative Week ended with hundreds of co-operators celebrating the Week in their own unique ways. While NCUI President Dileep Sanghani launched the Week at Amreli Dairy, he concluded it by visiting the NCUI Haat at Delhi’s headquarters.

Reports of celebrations have poured in from various parts of the country which include Uttar Pradesh, Karnatak, Manipur, Arunachal, J&K and others.  The Cooperative Fair-NCUI Haat witnessed a huge crowd of shoppers. Not only did cooperative leaders line up to attend the fair but also young people in this weeklong fair which started from 14th Nov.

Among others, ICA AP President Dr Chandra Pal Singh Yadav also visited the Haat. More than 50 stalls have been set up at the NCUI Haat, in which co-ops from Primary, District and state level are showcasing their products and schemes.

While talking to the Indian Cooperative correspondent an NCUI official who supervises the Haat said, “the fair not only helps us to provide a platform to co-ops but also helps in creating awareness about co-ops among the common men”.

On the occasion of 69th All India Cooperative Week, IFFCO organized a seminar on ‘Role of Cooperatives in Fostering Innovation, Promoting Start-Ups, and Technology Upgradation’ at Lucknow based PCU auditorium. The Principal Secretary, Cooperation B.L. Meena, who was the Chief Guest, inaugurated the seminar.

Meena said that the Government of India is going to bring a new cooperative policy for innovation and technology upgradation in the cooperative sector. Highlighting the importance of innovation in the cooperative sector, Dr. K.N. Tiwari, the chief speaker of the seminar, said that innovation should be carried out through co-operatives and publicized it for the general public. Innovations should aim at the benefit of farmers with a view to increasing their income.

UP State Cooperative Bank Vice-President Jitendra Bahadur said that it is necessary to develop the agriculture system and for this innovation is absolutely essential. He said that farmers should be trained to innovate and use advanced technologies.

Sahakar Bharati Jalaun (Uttar Pradesh) organized a program on the occasion of 69th All India Cooperative Week at the Orai based Kray (Sales) Vikray (Purchase) cooperative society in which Jalaun DCCB Director Brijbhushan Singh was the chief guest.

In his address on this occasion, Sahakar Bharati UP General Secretary Praveen Jadaun said that the Ministry of Cooperation has implemented many beneficial schemes for the development of PACS.

Assistant Registrar, Jalaun CL Prajapati informed the participants that the computerization of 30 cooperative societies of Jalaun would soon be done.

On the occasion, Jalaun DCCB Director Shyam Kishore Mishra, Hari Om Pandey, Ashish Patel and others were also present.

All India cooperative week was held at Mangala Stadium in Mangalore with the active cooperation of various cooperative organizations of the state. Cooperative minister S T Somshekhar inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp. Dr M N Rajendra Kumar was felicitated on the occasion.

Five people were selected from the undivided district of Dakshina Kannada for the Sahakari Ratna award that is given by the state government at state level. Konkodi Padmanabha, Nithyananda Mundodi and Damekana Sadashiva Rai from Dakshina Kannada while Jayakara Shetty Indrali and Yashpal Suvarna from Udupi were selected for the coveted award. They were felicitated on the dais by the chief guest.

The Department of Cooperative, Udhampur, today celebrated 69th Cooperative week at Shaheed Inspector Kamal Singh Model Higher Secondary School Boys, Udhampur. Secretary Cooperative, Yasha Mudgul,
was the chief guest while Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, Krittika Jyotsna was the guest of honour on the occasion.

Manipur State Cooperative Union in collaboration with Cooperative Union, Chandel observed the 69th All India Cooperative Week 2022 under the theme “India @75: Growth of Cooperative and Future Ahead” at Panchai Village hall in Chandel district.

The 69th National Cooperative Week celebration concluded at the Arunachal Pradesh State Cooperative Union’s (APSCU) conference hall in Polo Colony. Representatives of primary cooperative societies  from across the state, district cooperative unions, federal cooperative organisations, former cooperative leaders, panchayat leaders, unemployed youths, and others attended the valedictory function.

Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII), Ahmedabad in collaboration with AMUL and IFFCO celebrated the National Cooperative Week on Friday at the EDII Campus. The event saw participation of over 300 professionals championing the cause of cooperatives and the cooperative movement.

Speaking on the occasion P M Meva, Chief Manager (Marketing), IFFCO, said, “Across the world, cooperatives have contributed significantly to the economy of countries and have impacted the development of societies.
