The 79th Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm by cooperatives across the country, from national-level organizations to state, district, and village cooperatives. The tricolor was unfurled at their respective premises as members and employees came together to mark the occasion with patriotic fervor.

Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah greeted the nation on Independence Day, paying tribute to freedom fighters and soldiers. He called on citizens to honor their sacrifices by contributing to building a developed, self-reliant India.

At IFFCO’s Kalol unit in Gujarat, NCUI and IFFCO President Dileepbhai Sanghani hoisted the National Flag and felicitated employees for their outstanding work. On the occasion, Sanghani urged everyone to promote domestic trade and production in order to build a self-reliant India.

In Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, ICA-AP and Kribhco Chairman Chandra Pal Singh Yadav celebrated the day with school children and hoisted the tricolor with them.

The National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) too marked the day with enthusiasm. Officers and employees of the Corporation gathered at its headquarters for a flag-hoisting ceremony, saluting the tricolor and pledging their loyalty, commitment, and contribution to the nation’s progress.

NUCFDC President Jyotindra Mehta took to social media to extend his greetings, posting “Vande Mataram.”

In Gujarat, NAFCARD and Kheti Bank, headed by Dolar Kotecha, organized Independence Day celebrations during which they hoisted the National Flag, followed by a Tiranga rally.

On this occasion, NDDB Chairman Dr. Meenesh Shah extended Independence Day greetings while also marking NDDB’s Diamond Jubilee. He highlighted the institution’s six decades of service to the Indian dairy sector and underlined its ongoing focus on expansion and innovation.

Pune based VAMNICOM also hoisted the flag at the institute campus, calling Independence Day a moment to honor resilience, innovation, and the cooperative spirit. “As we mark this proud day, we are committed to strengthening the cooperative movement for a self-reliant India,” she said.

Prominent cooperative banks also shared their greetings. The Saraswat Bank in a social media post wrote, “Today, we celebrate the spirit of freedom, unity, and pride that binds us as a nation. Let’s honor the sacrifices of our heroes and commit to building a stronger, brighter India. Jai Hind!”

Similarly, the Cosmos Bank extended its wishes stating, “Financial freedom means different things to different people. We have been empowering each one since our inception. Wishing you all a very Happy Independence Day!”

Reports of vibrant celebrations poured in from Bihar, Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh, and several other states where cooperative leaders unfurled the tricolor and reaffirmed their commitment to the cooperative movement.

Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) across India also celebrated the occasion with joy and fervor.

On the 79th Independence Day, Rajasthan Principal Cooperation Secretary Manju Rajpal hoisted the National Flag at the Apex Cooperative Bank, where children participated with patriotic zeal and a ceremonial salute was offered.

On this historic day, Indian Cooperative joins the nation and the cooperative fraternity in saluting the tricolor. Long live India, and long live the cooperative movement!
