Co-op elections: Cong trounces BJP in Himachal

Congress has come up trumps in the election held recently for Himachal Pradesh state cooperative milk producers’ federation. A congressman has once again become the director of the federation.

The congress candidate managed to get 20 votes while his rival a rebel congress leader could gather only 14 votes.

The BJP had not fielded its candidate and instead lent support to the congress rebel in a bid to create divisions in the congress.

However, the BJP’s gambit designed to wrest power from the congress came a cropper.
