Cooperatives across the country have geared up to celebrate the big day–“International Day of Cooperatives” on 3rd July 2021. The theme of the this year’s International Day of Cooperatives is “Rebuild better together”.
The apex body of co-ops-NCUI is organizing a webinar in which Union Minister of State for Agriculture Parshottam Rupala would be the Chief Guest and the function would be presided over by the NCUI President Dileep Sanghani.
While Biscomaun Chairman and a GC member Sunil Kumar Singh will be the keynote speaker, former NCUI President Dr Chandra Pal Singh Yadav would give special address. Bijender Singh would be the distinguished guest.
Sahakar Bharati is organizing a program virtually in the evening in which Padma Bhushan Dr Nandkishore S Laud, eminent Orthopaedic Surgeon who has devoted long years for successfully running Shushrusha Citizens Co-Op Hospital will be the Keynote Speaker.
There are many other cooperatives which are celebrating the day with full gusto and enthusiasm. Chhattisgarh State Cooperative Union in collaboration with State Cooperative Bank, State Cooperative Housing Union is organizing a seminar on the occasion, in which State Cooperative Minister Premsai Singh Tekam will be thechief guest.
Besides, Indian Co-ops, as part of the celebrations for International Day of Cooperatives 2021, the International Cooperative Alliance together with the Committee for the Promotion and Advancement of Cooperatives (COPAC), will host a webinar entitled “Cooperatives for a better recovery” on Friday 2 July at 15.00 CET.
It is reported that in one of the programs to be organized in Bhopal on 3rd July, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister will be the chief guest. State Cooperation Minister Arvind Bhadoria will preside. Assistant Commissioner Cooperative Rajendrasinh Kanesh said that the Chief Minister would interact with the farmers of the Tribal Service Cooperative Institute, Borjhar.
Observed by cooperatives worldwide since 1923 and officially proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly on the centenary of the ICA in 1995, the International Day of Cooperatives is celebrated annually on the first Saturday of July.
This year’s celebration will be the 27th International Day of Cooperatives recognized by the United Nations and the 99th International Cooperative Day.
