The contributions made by Uttarakhand State Cooperative Bank and DCCBs have won the praise of the Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat, who have lauded the co-operators of the state for their generosity.

Reacting to the proactive role being played by cooperatives, Rawat said “In view of the corona virus, a cheque of Rs 1 crore 21 lakh was given by the Uttarakhand State Cooperative Bank and DCCBs today as a grant to the CM Relief Fund, along with 1 days of the salary of officers and employees which amounted to Rs 23 lakh 50K. Your cooperation in this difficult period of Corona will definitely lead us to victory in this battle.”

On Monday morning, Uttarakhand State Cooperative Bank chairman and Uttarakhand State Cooperative Minister Dhan Singh Rawat personally handed over the cheque to Trivendra Singh Rawat Chief Minister of the State.

Employees of DCCBs have also generously contributed to the Chief Minister relief fund. Uttarakhand State Cooperative Bank and District Central Cooperative Banks jointly contributed Rs 1.21 crore towards the CM Relief fund in order to help the government fight against the Covid-19.

Indian Cooperative has just learnt from the representatives of a few DCCBs about the contributions made by them individually.

Uttarakhand State Cooperative Bank MD Deepak Kumar said, “We have contributed Rs 15 lakh and Rs 1.55 lakh contributed by the employees towards the CM relief fund to strengthen the hands of the state government in fighting the coronavirus.

Sharing the news Amit Shah, Chairman of Dehradun District Cooperative Bank said, ” The bank has contributed 10 lakh rupees out of which 8.50 lakh contributed by the bank and 1.50 lakh given from one day’s salary of our employees”, he said.

One of the directors of Haridwar District Cooperative Bank, Susheel Rathi said, “6.50 lakh rupees were donated by the bank and 2 lakh rupees donated from the one day’s salary of our employees. The total amount of contribution towards the CM relief fund were Rs 8.50 lakh rupees.

Later, Rajendra Negi, Chairman of Nainital District Cooperative bank announced that, ” The bank has contributed 8 lakh rupees and Rs 3,21,841 donated by the employees. The total amount Rs 11,21,841 was contributed to the CM Relief fund. Besides, the bank has also contributed Rs 2 lakh towards the PM CARES fund”, he asserted.

Talking to Indian Cooperative correspondent, Lalit Latwal, Chairman of Almora District Cooperative Bank said, ” the bank and employees have contributed Rs 8.50 lakh and Rs 1.64 lakh respectively to the CM relief fund”.

Sharing the news, one of the officials of Udhamsingh Nagar District Cooperative Bank, H S Yadav said, “We have contributed Rs 11.65 lakh to the CM relief fund. Rs 3.15 lakh donated from employees one day’s salary and Rs 8.50 lakh contributed by the bank”, he informed as soon as they made the contributions.

Chamoli District Co-operative Bank has provided financial assistance of a Rs 10.5 lakh in the Chief Minister Relief Fund to fight the corona virus pandemic. At the same time, District Cooperative Bank President Gajendra Rawat ji has donated Rs 11000 from his personal earnings to the  Chief Minister Relief Fund.

Apart from contributions, the Cooperative Bank employee’s union, Uttarakhand has demanded that group life insurance of Rs 50 lakh should be done for each employee for providing safety during the working hours in the lock down period.

It is to be noted that there are 10 DCCBs in Uttarakhand. There are 289 branches of DCCBs as well as state cooperative banks in Uttarakhand and all of them are operational.
