The Chhatisgarh govt. has decided to get elections to the cooperative societies in the state handled by the State Election Commission. The govt. would soon bring an ordinance to put its decision into action.
Sources say the move invests Chhatisgarh with the distinction of being the first state in the country to organist cooperative elections through the state election commission.
Earlier the state election commission had expressed reservations about the cooperative elections in the state.
