Centre to solve urea-crisis in Haryana

A farmer casts urea fertilizer in a rice plantation on the expropriated and now redistributed farm of El Charcote in the central state of CojedesThe central govt will supply 15 thousand metric tonnes of urea daily to Haryana reeling from a serious shortage of the fertiliser. Union minister of chemicals and fertilisers Anant Kumar has taken this decision following consultation with the officials of his ministry.

The Minister source says it would increase the quantum of supply if the current amount of 15 thousand metric tonnes did not suffice. Sources say five rakes of urea would be delivered to Haryana every day.

Meanwhile, minister of agriculture, Haryana Om Prakash Dhankar has reiterated the state govt’s resolve to go out of its way to protect the interests of farmers in the state.

The minister said the state govt. has taken all possible measures to check black-marketing of fertlisers and FIR has already been lodged against 20 people so far.
