Odisha State Poultry Products Co-operative Marketing Federation (Opolfed), the apex poultry co-operative marketing organisation has began online sale of poultry products including eggs and chicken.
Launching a shopping website of Opolfed www.chickenfresh, Agriculture, Fisheries and Animal Resources Development Minister Pradeep Maharathy said it would provide the people a flexible buying experience.
The minister said for starters the Opolfed would sell poultry products only in Bhubaneswar but later the cooperative could sell them in other cities in the state as well.
The minister also launched a Facebook business page of Opolfed www.facebook.com/opolfed, saying it would help people to connect with Opolfed.
According to govt. officials, the online shopping platform will enable customers to place orders online and get delivery at home.
