The fallout from internal dissension in BJD in Odisha has begun affecting the cooperative sector in the state.
Ever since Pyari Mohan Mohapatra a BJD Rajya Sabha member has been in chief minister Navin Patnaik’s bad graces, scores of heads of the cooperative organisations in the state owing allegiance to the former have been removed from their positions.
It bears mention that Mohapatra has been accused of initiating political moves aimed at dislodging chief minister Patnaik from power.
Sources say the growing political crisis within the BJD would have deleterious effects on the cooperative movement in Odisha.
