Biscomaun’s hospitality makes cooperators recall IFFCO’s Golden Jubilee

The Bihar Cooperative Conference which was inaugurated by Bihar’s Chief Minister and presided over by NCUI’s President would be remembered by cooperators as a historic event. The arrangements made during the event were the topic of conversation among the participants.

Led by Biscomaun Chairman Dr Sunil Singh the team ensured every guest was well-taken care of. Each of them was received at the Patna Airport and had a care-taker who ensured their stay remained pleasant.

The quality of food was high with the legendary Maurya Hotel doing most of the catering. The co-operative dinner on the evening of 23rd was, however, organized at Biscomaun Bhavan in a recently opened restaurant which surpassed even Maurya. Indian Cooperative saw several guests including Nafcub President Jyotindra Mehta savoring the food with a group from Gujarat.

Each guest was also felicitated on the occasion. They were offered gifts with their names engraved on most of the items. “I am overwhelmed by the effort madev in doing everything so methodologically”, quipped a participant. Most of us have felt an out of the world experience here in Patna by Sunil’s hospitality, they underlined.

The experience was comparable to IFFCO’s Golden Jubilee Celebrations, said several participants who had the chance to be part of the event held a couple of years ago at Kalol in Gujarat. IFFCO’s MD Dr U S Awasthi had similarly planned everything to the minutest details so that everyone felt comfortable, they said.

The two evenings– 22nd and 23rd were filled with cultural activities with guests sitting on the roof-top of iconic Biscomaun Tower and artists lining up to offer their performances one after another. There were folks dances as well.

“I have attended national as well as international functions but have never seen something like this’, wrote a participant overwhelmed by the experience.

One of the remarkable features of the event was the continual presence of two Ministers- Prem Kumar and Rana Randhir Singh not only during the day time but also in the evening. Expressing solidarity with the Biscomaun team, the two ministers were present as if it was their own function. “In my state the minister comes in the function and is never to be found afterwards”, said a cooperator of Maharashtra stressing the Bihari’s sense of hospitality.

Lauded from all quarters for his care and concern shown for the guests, Biscomaun Chairman Dr Sunil Singh turned to Rana Ranjit Singh, Biscomaun Board member and younger brother of the state co-op minister and said ‘the credit goes to him”.

Later, he requested Kribhco Chairman to accept Ranjit on the Kribhco Board as a Biscomaun nominee. “Rana Ranjit would phone me in midnight to assure that everything is under control”, recalled Sunil admiring the young cooperator.
