Biscomaun: Sunil files nominations, sounds sure of his victory

The outgoing Chairman of Biscomaun Dr Sunil Kumar Singh filed his nomination papers on Monday in Patna aiming to seek his reelection to the apex co-op marketing federation of Bihar and Jharkhand.

Surrounded by his supporters Sunil claimed that with the blessings of seniors and support from fellow cooperators he does not see a hassle in his reelection. He filed his nominations before the Returning officer, who is a retired district judge.

On the first day, 28 nominations were filed before the Returning officer.

It bears recall that Biscomaun has completed its first phase of election in which the state’s marketing cooperative federation elected 210 delegates from across districts in Bihar and Jharkhand.

Election for the new Board is scheduled for 9th June in which a new Chairman and vice-chairman would be elected. More than 50% delegates are new this time.

In his WhatsApp message sent to Indian Cooperative Sunil wrote “Today on 3rd June I have filed my nominations before the returning officer. According to the bylaws of Biscomaun 17 Directors are to be elected. While there would be 15 Directors from the Category A, two Directors be elected from Category B”, he wrote.

While the scrutiny will take place on 4th June, the date of withdrawal is on 6th. The final voting is scheduled for 9th June. On the same day, after the results of Directors are announced, Chairman and Vice-Chairman would be elected by them.

“The entire state of Bihar and Jharkhand is watching the elections with zeal”, Sunil said.
