Bima Yojna: Co-op banks insure 50 lakh farmers

The cooperative banks of the country are empowering peoples through various insurance schemes of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. These policies are being vigorously pursued in Chhattisgarh.

A press release from the apex bank NAFSCOB says over 50 lakh people of Chhattisgarh are covered under the Pradhan Mantri Bima Yojana. More than three lakh people each in the districts of Raigarh, Rajnandgaon and Raipur have got themselves insured under this scheme.

The Chairman of Apex Bank Ashok Bajaj said that Durg- a district in Madhya Pradesh has also witnessed huge response of the scheme. “Through the cooperative banks around 4 lakh people were insured under the Pradhan Mantri yojana” he added.

Under these policies till now 3 lakh people were insured in Raigad, and Raipur district. Similarly, 9 lakh people were insured under the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bhima Yojana, according to the press release.
