Badal chairs Markfed meeting

Markfed from Punjab – a major marketing cooperative in this part of the world would soon begin purveying bottled mineral water to the people. The watery product would bear the name ”sohna” and sell on both national and international market.

An official spokesman said, the new project would further boost the financial resources of the cooperative giant.

The mineral water plant would be located in Jalandhar district of the state and would become operational early next year.

Sources say Punjab chief minister Prakash Singh Badal is taking personal interest in the project. The meeting of the cooperation department that decided on launching this project was chaired by the chief minister himself, add the sources.

Markfed, a famed Punjab government undertaking, sells clarified butter, refined oils, sauces and basmati rice.
