Amin showcases Gujarat’s credit co-ops in Delhi

The Gujarat State Cooperative Credit Societies Federation held recently a three day Leadership Development Program for Chairmen and Directors of Co-operative Credit Societies at NCUI New Delhi, says the press release issued by the federation.

Inaugurating the event Ghanshyam Amin, Vice President, NCUI said National Co-operative Union of India is a national level Apex Institution of the Co-operative Sector and there are 8 lac co-operative institutes in the country which are associated with it.

Talking to Indian Cooperative Amin said that Gujarat follows one of the best practices of co-operative functioning and we wanted to showcase the same for the benefits of credit co-ops of other states.

“Since everybody cannot come to Gujarat we invited several co-ops of other states to NCCE in Delhi and held this training session”, Amin said explaining the motto of the programme.

It bears recall that NCCE is engaged in the activities of imparting Training and Education for co-operatives in the Country. As a part of it, Gujarat State Co-operative Credit Societies Federation organizes such training and education Programs every one or two year, Amin said.

The federation also organizes Taluka, District, and State Level Seminars for the representatives of Co-operative Credit Societies to educate co-operators on various subjects like Digitalization and Cashless Transaction, Latest Co-operative Laws etc. by eminent subject experts, the NCUI vice-president noted.

Elaborating on the achievements of the federation, Amin said the federation recently organized a State Level Seminar on the subject“Income Tax in Co-operative Credit Societies. to inform co-operators about section 80-P of Income Tax in detail.

The federation put a useful book in the public domain for the benefit of co-operators that incorporated various important Judgements delivered by Income Tax Appellate Tribunal, High Courts of various states and Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, claimed Amin.

Describing the co-operative infrastructure of Gujarat as very robust, Amin said it attracts the representative of various countries for the in depth study of the co- operative sector of the state.

Addressing the delegates, N Satyanarayan, the Chief Executive of NCUI, said in order to boost the co-operative activities, various programs are organized by NCUI. The NCUI CE urged credit societies to adopt the latest technology so they could retain their competitiveness in changing times.

Speaking on the occasion, V K Dubey, Director of NCCE, called for expansion of cooperative activities to ensure cooperative bodies become more useful.

S C Pradhan, Principal of JCTC of Delhi State Co-operative Union gave a live presentation about Credit Appraisal and Loan Documents.

The representatives of various credit societies attended the program. The coordination of the entire program was done by Dushyantsinh Vaghela Chief Executive Officer of the Federation.
