Amin exhorts co-op sector to support govt; donates Rs 11 lac

In a letter written to co-operative bodies in the state of Gujarat, state co-op union chief and NCUI’s Vice-President G H Amin exhorted them to contribute generously to the CM and the PM Fund. Gujarat State Cooperative Union (GSCU) has, meanwhile, contributed Rs 11 lacs towards the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.

Amin’s office has forwarded a letter to Indian Cooperative detailing the contributions made by Shri Rajkot District Cooperative Bank to the CM Fund and the PM Cares Fund at the appeal of the state co-op union.

Dr Rajendra Trivedi, Executive Officer of the Bank writes to Amin saying “With reference to the appeal made by you, it is to inform you that Shri Rajkot District Cooperative Bank Ltd has contributed of Rs 21,00,000/- to the CM Fund and Rs 11,00,000/- to the PM Cares Fund.

Detailing the contributions made by GSCU and its employees, G H Amin said “Apart from Rs 11 lac, the employees of GSCU have also contributed one day’s salary. Both the cheques were presented to Vijaybhai Rupani, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Gujarat at CM’s residence at Gandhinagar.”

Dr Rajendra Trivedi, Executive Officer, and C J Dave, Assistant Information Officer also remained present, the note added.

While appealing to the co-op sector to contribute generously G H Amin said ”when the entire world and nation is facing the Coronavirus pandemic, the CM of Gujarat has undertaken the work of preventing the transmission of Coronavirus. It’s therefore essential that we all cooperatives collectively cooperate and support the Government by way of strictly implementing the directives”, Amin added.

“I earnestly urge and appeal to all the members of Gujarat State Cooperative Union and all District Cooperative Unions and their members and all other Cooperative institutions and organizations of Gujarat to generously donate and contribute from their reserve funds to the Chief Minister’s Fund and the PM Cares Fund”, said Amin’s letter.

The flow of donations started following the appeal of G H Amin, an eminent Co-operator of Gujarat, claimed an official associated with Amin.
