Fishcopfed prepares for poll; Sandhe’s name not in voter list

Sandhe, a senior co-operator from Maharashtra is not in the list of eligible voters. The name of Sandhe, who is also the outgoing Vice-President of Fishcopfed was rejected from the voters list during scrutiny on various grounds.

Sources said, the reason for rejection of Sandhe was that his letter for becoming a voter was addressed to the MD and not to the RO. Joseph Baxla, Assistant Registrar, Delhi has been appointed as the returning officer.

The names of other senior leaders including Fishcopfed’s outgoing President T Prasad Rao Dora, former Chairman Prakash Lonare and many more are, however, there in the voter list.

Though there are about 109 district and state level fishery co-ops which are the members of Fishcopfed, quite a few societies are under liquidation.
