Fishcopfed: Mishra bags ICFO award

fishcopfedB K Mishra, the Managing Director of apex national fisheries co-operative federation Fishcopfed has bagged yet another award from the global fisheries body ICFO. Mishra has been awarded Certificate of Merit by the world Body.

Mishra wields formidable reputation as he is credited with turning around the fortune of loss-making Fishcopfed and a very short span of time. He expressed happiness at the recognition by the global body.

The letter sent by ICFO read“ In recognition of his outstanding contributions to the advancement of global fisheries and to raising global status and development to ICFO by increasing new membership this certificate is awarded to Mr B K Mishra by ICFO in order to deliver gratitude of ICFO and its members.

The ICFO team followed it with “ I am writing this to ask what you think of certificate of merit which will be awarded to you at ICFO meeting”.

ICFO has 22 members in 20 countries around the world. It is one of the most active organizations of ICFO. The ICFO is supporting existing fishery cooperatives and aiding in the development of new ones.

Recently only B. K. Mishra was re-elected unanimously as the Vice Chairman of International Cooperative Fishries Organisation (ICFO), a sectoral organisation of International Cooperative Alliance (ICA), for tenure of four years recently at Bali.

Fishcopfed has insured more than 41 lakhs fishermen so far and every year we attempt to increase this figure. The present insurance amount is one lakh but we wish to increase it further, Mishra had told Indian Cooperative last week.
