Urea: Farmers pelt stones in Rajasthan

vasundhra-rajeFarmers in Rajasthan are on the warpath because they are not being supplied with enough urea. They are showing anger holding protests and demonstrations throughout the state.

At places, farmers have pelted stones at authorities. However, the state agriculture minister Prabhulal Saini has blamed farmers for the shortage of the input. He said farmers are overusing urea, and hoarding it. The minister added excessive use of urea is harmful for human health.

According to the minister, the non-availability of railway ramps has also affected the supply of urea in the state. Chief minister Vasundhra Raje has already urged the center to make available urea through import without delay.

Agriculture Minister has assured there would be plentiful supply of urea in the state in the next few days.
